This world leading, unique technology is in-house developed by Dynasafe to be completely gas-tight for repetitive detonations up to the maximum amount of explosives specified. With an optional fragment shielding, our DynaSEALR X12 is also proven to withstand a detonation of a 155 mm howitzer shell without sustaining damage to the chamber.
DynaSEALR X-chambers are used to safely secure, contain, transport, store or test explosives, toxics, or combinations thereof by law enforcement, first responders, military units, security companies, security organizations, airports etc. Its modular design ensures that DynaSEALR X-units can be tailored to meet different demands with regards to mobility, loading volume, explosion capacity and special features.
2. Object size
What size objects do you need to be able to load?
The DynaSEALR X-chamber is available in different sizes, with standard diameters of around 1000, 1200, 1400 and 1600 mm.
A maximized opening is provided thanks to the unique design, whereby the chamber is opened on the biggest diameter.
3. Explosion capacity
What explosion capacity do you need?
Our DynaSEALR chambers are gas-tight up to at least the rated charge; usually 5 or 8 kg TNT-equivalent, up to a minimum of 1+10 repetitive shots (1 is performed during the FAT).
All Dynasafe products are analyzed by simulation for structural integrity from charge weights ranging from the rated explosion capacity up to a many times higher overload charge until it bursts virtually.
All Dynasafe products are further tested with the rated charge weight, to ensure a smooth delivery, high performance and compliance to our high quality standards. For some of our products we have performed tests also with the mentioned overload charge to verify the simulations. These tests show that there is a good alignment between test and simulation.
While not guarantees, further indicative numbers based on our simulations are:
For a single detonation, the chamber is likely to be gas-tight up to around 1.5 times the rated charge in reality
Repetitive detonations under non-gastight condition are reasonably safe up to 1.5 times the rated charge
For a single non-gastight detonation 2 times the rated charge is a reasonably safe amount
4. Rotating or straight opening
Do you need extended accessibility and overview?
The DynaSEALR X-chamber has an openable rear half sphere with a loading tray. This openable end can in most models rotate up to 270º, giving full visibility and access from both sides and from the rear of the unit. The loading plane can be positioned anywhere within that 270 degree arc for even easier loading and unloading. This means that the loading tray can be directed in the most advantageous and safest way for the mission.
We can also offer a simpler solution with a straight opening, if required. The straight opening can be extended, to get a longer opening. The accessibility for this solution is good from both sides, but the reach for e.g. a robot is slightly longer.
DynaSEALR X14-FMH is a special application with horizontal opening.
5. Radiation shielding
Is protection against “dirty bombs” a requirement?
For reduction of Gamma radiation a protective layer of 30 mm lead can be filled between an outer and an inner sphere. This is a fixed (non removable) homogenous filling for maximum radiation protection.
6. Carrier
How do you need to transport and maneuver your DynaSEALR?
The containment vessel is mounted on a steel frame in two parts: one stationary part supporting the vessel and one movable part carrying the movable end cover. The frame is further used as a support and attachment for a control cabinet, components for pneumatic seal system, actuators etc.
You can have the containment vessel on a frame and integrate it into your existing systems as you see fit, or You can choose one of our pre-designed and well-tested solutions (examples follow next) and customize it to your needs, or You can get a complete solution tailored to your particular needs.

11. Options
What features do you need?
Examples of optional equipment, developed in close cooperation with customers to meet the specific needs for their environments and circumstances, are:
Fragment shield to protect against fragmentation bombs
Radio remote-controlled operation
Manipulator arm to remotely load objects into the chamber
Vision system to support the remote-control
Robot buttons for alternative opening/closing by robot
Heating inside the chamber to destroy the contained object
Gas sampling equipment
Equipment for gas cleaning and chamber decontamination
12. Fragment shield
A typical fragmentation bomb with high explosives and a cylindrical shell will produce extremely high speed fragments. The kinetic energy is very high and the distance to the vessel wall is too short to reduce the velocity of the fragments. When these fragments hit the vessel wall they will penetrate the steel and create craters. A complete perforation (a hole in the chamber wall) is not likely, but cannot be ruled out.
Dynasafe offers fragment protection shields as an option to some of our DynaSEALR X-models. The fragment protection shield will, to a very high extent, mitigate the damage to the vessel wall. Our ~1200 mm diameter DynaSEALR is tested to prevent a detonation of a 155 mm howitzer shell from damaging the chamber.
13. Radio Remote Control
The DynaSEALR X is by default equipped with a control panel, connected with a 50 m long cable. Most versions can be modified to also include a radio transmitter and receiver for wireless control up to 300 m (line of sight) of functions such as opening and closing of the vessel, pressurizing and decompressing of seals, etc. (This function is included as default in the IDU versions.) The radio remote-control option can combine both wireless and cable control of the vessel.
The standard control panel with 50 m cable and the Radio Remote Control version has the same casing and main machine interface. When using the RRC option, simply connect the cable to the control box if cable operation is preferred.
14. Manipulator arm
Some of our models can be equipped with an optional manipulator arm, which can be used to pick up heavy objects from the ground and lift them onto the loading tray, when the vessel is open. The manipulator arm is operated by using remote control and a vision system.
The manipulator arm has pre-programmed movements to reach transport position, standby position, and loading position above the loading tray. When the object is gripped, the last joint of the manipulator arm can be controlled automatically to maintain the gripping geometry for a safer movement.
15. Vision system
The optional vision system supports the possibility to remote control the DynaSEALR X on drive unit and the optional manipulator arm.
The system consists of four cameras, a video link, and a separate panel presenting the video information. The operator panel features joysticks and buttons for controlling the manipulator arm.
The four cameras are placed to provide vantage points forwards, backwards, of the loading area and of the manipulator arm gripper. Camera selection is controlled either automatically or manually.
16. Robot buttons
The DynaSEALR X can be equipped with large push buttons for opening and closing of the vessel by an external robot or Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV).
17. Heating
With the optional internal heating system installed, suspect objects can be destroyed inside the vessel through a heating process.
The electrical heating system is capable of heating the loading tray of the chamber to approximately 350°C, a temperature high enough to destroy all presently known explosives. Any explosives present will burn, deflagrate, or detonate.
18. Gas sampling equipment
The Dynasafe Gas Sampling Unit (GSU) is designed to take air samples out of the closed and gas-tight DynaSEALR, in case where:
an explosion may have led to a release of toxic gases
toxic gases may have leaked from the contained object
DynaSEALR units are gas-tight, which means people outside is protected from any toxic gases contained by a suspicious object. The purpose of the GSU is to determine what - if any - toxic gases have been released within the chamber. Passive or active detection equipment can be connected, as well as air sampling bags for later examination in a laboratory. Additionally, an activated carbon filter for the release of the enclosed gas is included.
19. Cleaning and decontamination equipment
The Treatment System for Bomb Chamber (TSBC) is a system designed to treat contamination inside a closed and gas-tight DynaSEALR.
Treatment with the TSBC greatly reduces the risk of opening the DynaSEALR after toxic material has been released inside. Although it is not possible to achieve a complete decontamination without opening the vessel, the trapped gas inside can be cleaned or destroyed and every surface inside the DynaSEALR can be saturated with a treatment solution.
